Embarked on a transformative journey with a two-year tenure at LXM - Lisboa e Miroto architects, where my architectural internship unfolded. During this period, I honed invaluable aesthetic and technical design skills while contributing to an array of architectural projects. These ranged from expansive, high-profile public undertakings and competitions to intimately scaled projects crafted exclusively for private clients. Subsequently, I immersed myself in a rich collaboration spanning over five years with Atelier Holcnerova. Here, I dedicated my expertise to the meticulous restoration of architectural gems scattered across the enchanting city of Lisbon. In addition to breathing new life into historic structures, I actively participated in the creation of contemporary architectural solutions and the refinement of modern renovations.

My journey also included engaging in private competitions, each a testament to my commitment to excellence in the realm of high-end architecture. I've established my personal line of work, launching benalistudio in 2022, dedicated to architectural projects in Portugal, focusing mainly in the areas of Alentejo and Lisbon, with my biggest client being Santiago de Alfama hotel, helping the owners start other ventures in hospitality especially in Alvito and Vila Nova da Baronia, near Évora. I've never lost my international focus, working with clients worldwide, ranging from housing projects in Minnesota, commercial and mixed use projects around the US and public school and daycare projects in the USA specifically in the state of Georgia.

I've also designed and built a private house in Costa Rica, Kalia, as well as developing commercial and housing projects for Antigua in the Caribbean. Beyond borders, I've left my architectural imprint in diverse locations, including the development of commercial and housing projects in Antigua, within the Caribbean, and also a Glamping project for the Al Ula area in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was established as a temporary hotel near an extinct volcano area. More recently, I've established a fruitful collaboration with JGAC Architects, in Portugal, channeling our collective expertise into healthcare and commercial projects in the picturesque Algarve region, specifically for Octant Hotels. This fusion of local and global experiences defines my commitment to creating distinctive and internationally appealing architectural solutions.

"Normally, architects render a service. They implement what other people want. This is not what I do. I like to develop the use of the building together with the client, in a process, so that as we go along we become more intelligent."
