Renovation of a 1950 existing apartment,  located in Rio de Mouro, Sintra. The old matrix of the house presented itself as a T3 flat, with small comparmented rooms.
The architectural challenge presented envolved gaining area for an open space living room & kitchen, which envolved the demolition of a separation wall between the existing compartments.
A mix of a simple material palette, due to the lower budget for the project, still enabled the apartment to gain light and a more modern aesthetic, while also gaining square footage. A large window was placed near the kitchen to allow the apartment to gain much needed light from the south & west.
