Built for an existing mid century house in the heart of Sintra, the design of the pool and its location needed to reflect simplicity but also elegance. A single rectangular plane is proposed, with each limestone (Lioz) covered step carefully placed to allow easy access to the pool but also produce a statement of character as to its whereabouts.
The steps form a bench around the access to the pool which allows for an easy access to children and the elderly, and for enjoying baths in the southern facing side.
